Expanding Occupational Therapy within the Foster Care System

What do you think of when you hear the term “occupational therapy (OT)?” Throughout this course, you will learn more about the OT process and how the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF) can be utilized to help meet the diverse needs of individuals in the foster care system. Additionally, you will be provided with the foundational knowledge needed to understand sensory processing and integration as well as how these systems may be impacting your youth and child(ren). In turn, you will leave the training with the necessary tools in order to feel confident implementing sensory-based interventions in your own home to optimize your youth and child(ren)’s occupational participation and performance in meaningful, everyday activities.
