This training class provides essential tools and insights for addressing food challenges experienced by traumatized children and youth. Participants will explore practical mealtime strategies to create a safe and supportive environment, as well as resources for addressing sensory food-related issues such as Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). The class also delves into the brain science behind food insecurity, examining how trauma and inconsistent access to food impact brain development and behavior. Designed for educators, caregivers, and professionals, this session equips participants with actionable tips and evidence-based approaches to foster healthier relationships with food and promote healing.
This course is taught by Lindsey Martin. Lindsey Martin, LCSW is a practicing therapist, TBRI Practitioner, and a trainer for FaithBridge. She specializes in Complex Childhood Trauma, Grief and Loss, Sexual Trauma, Parenting Issues, Attachment, Anxiety, Self Esteem, Career Counseling, and Spiritual Trauma.
